It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This week has brought some more snow for our part of the United Kingdom. We woke up yesterday to a white-covered Winter wonderland.... again!!! For an area that doesn't get much snow, Hampshire sure has seen it's fair share of it ever since we arrived back in 2009. We have had 3 periods of snow now. So exciting!!! Of course, it would be surprising if we didn't have snow at the moment. The ENTIRE UK is covered in beautiful white powder. I don't think anywhere has missed out! We jumped on ebay last week as soon as we heard news that snow was expected again to buy a pair of plastic super sleds. They have had a good wearing in now. We have dragged them to Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth for the last two days running now. We all got a 'Snow Day' yesterday and all bar Matt had another one today. We love the snow!!! Science and History!

Today we set off in the car nice and early and headed for one of our favourite cities in the world: LONDON! On the agenda today: The Science Museum and The Natural History Museum . Once again we drove as far as Richmond train station and bought our 1 day travel cards (these give us unlimited bus, train and underground usage for the entire day). Both of these venues are completely FREE to visit. Amazing! We started with the Science Museum. For hours we wandered around the many floors stocked with scientific history. We saw everything from ancient technology to modern technology. There wasn't as much hands-on exploring as we had hoped but it was still a very interesting visit. We have become quite proficient at the whole ' day travel card ' now. To the point where, instead of walking 10 minutes up the road to the nearest McDonalds for lunch, we lazily jumped on a bus and took it instead. Pet owners, beware

We had a bit of a close call with authority today.  Really must remember to check where we are going before we decide to bring our lovely Miss T along.  It seems that there are still places in Australia which are very 'Dog unfriendly'.  After our time living in the UK and traveling throughout Europe this still surprises us. Our destination today was Wellington Point in the Redland City, a lovely area to be sure, but beware if you are visiting with a dog.  Due to the Redlands area being considered a conservation area residents voted to have dogs not alllowed during certain areas.  They are ok at some hours but not others so be sure to check this before heading out for a day in the sun with your beloved pooch. All that aside, we had a magnificent day.  Luckily for us we had managed to enjoy a 3 hour stay before the lovely (and I do mean lovely) ranger came and had a chat with us about why we should get in our car and drive away from the area with our...
